Fur: Two Ways.

It’s getting a bit brisk outside, no? Gone are the days when I can walk out of my house in the morning without thinking about outerwear, and I’ve started reaching for thicker layers to build outfits around.

Today I’ve teamed up with my pal Nikki from The Fashionable WifeΒ to bring you two ways to wear a big trend this fall and winter: fur. Nikki’s rocking a fur-trimmed scarf, while I show you how to wear a fur vest.

A simple cream cropped sweater, studded nude t-strap flats, and a monogram necklace were all I needed to complete the look.

Nikki took a red dress and layered it over a classic striped shirt. (I love this trick; wear your sleeveless dresses well past Labor Day by layering fall + winter appropriate pieces like long-sleeved tees, turtlenecks, and lightweight sweaters underneath.) The fur-trimmed scarf adds warms and elevates the style, as does a pair of really stellar black booties.

There you have it- two ways to work fur into your fall and winter wardrobe. What do you think? A trend you’ll be trying? I’m definitely game. A huge thanks to Nikki for tackling this trend with me! Make sure you swing by The Fashionable Wife and send Nikki some love; her blog is a fave of mine.

  1. You both are too cute! I love how your outfits compliment each other.

Faux fur is so fab, true true. I love it! I have a fur coat I’ve been dying to pull out- maybe I should!

  2. Really great fur vest, Ash. I think this look is chic on you! I love the ponytail with it, it really shows off the vest.

    Great collaboration!

  3. Sole Society is a new brand, right? I haven’t tried any of their shoes, but I’m starting to see lots of my favorite bloggers wearing shoes by them. Would you recommend?

    1. Hi Issa, I have 3 pairs of shoes from Sole Society, and LOVE each pair. Really comfy (I wear ’em straight out of the box for a whole day/evening and never wear a blister), and the styles are right on trend. I would definitely recommend it!

  4. I love both outfits! I struggle with wearing fur because I didn’t really know how to wear it before- but I love these two ways! Seems easy enough now. πŸ™‚

  5. Ahh both of these fur looks are so adorable! I love that you both incorporated red in it, too! I love that your vest isn’t too fluffy. I always have a hard time finding the perfect faux fur vest, and I think I’d really like this one! Gorgeous as always πŸ™‚

    1. Yesss- one of my fav things about this particular fur vest is that it’s a slimmer cut, ie, not too puffy. πŸ™‚ Thanks, babe!
