Floral Bomber + Leggings.

Jackets like this floral bomber are must-haves for this fall.

What am I most excited about this fall? Jackets, always. From dusters to denim, I’m on the hunt for eye-catching jackets to top basic outfits. This floral bomber jacket from H&M is one of my favorite scores to date. It’s lightweight, which means you can easily wear it now while those summer temps are hanging around. It also has a definite cool factor with the dark print + varsity striped collar and sleeves. I wore this jacket for a fall fashion feature I did for Ink Magazine (see the photos; read the article) with scuba leggings and the same boots worn here. I liked it so much I recreated the outfit a few weeks later with workout leggings (yes, you heard me right) and an easy Target tee. This look has a cool + vibe that doesn’t cut into comfort.

And yes, I’m wearing leggings as pants. Want to do this successfully? (Which means avoiding a see-through moment involving your backside.) I’m here to help:

  • First: get a pair of truly opaque leggings. What I love about the athleisure trend is it’s made wearing workout leggings with non-gym elements to create a really cool outfit with a street style feel. Workout leggings (like these from Carbon38) tend to be more on the opaque side because they’re designed for women to be active in ’em. Test your leggings by bending over in front of a mirror. I’m serious! This is the only way you’re going to know, y’all.
  • Next step: grab a longer t-shirt/sweater/jacket. While you don’t have to cover your bum anymore (see: Kylie, Gigi, Bella, Hailey in crop tops + leggings), wearing something with a longer hem it’s the easiest + most flattering way to wear.
  • Finally, make your shoe choice. Sneakers, boots, flats, pumps– they all work.

I’ll be wearing this floral bomber with everything from leggings and sneakers to over the top of fitted LBD’s with pumps. Just because this jacket is loud doesn’t mean it isn’t versatile.

  1. Ahh I cannot even explain how excited I am for fall, purely because of jackets. Sometimes I feel like summer is hard fashion-wise, because I always feel like I’m melting ahah.
Your outfit is perfect! Love the jacket and glasses! It’s very edgy and unique. 🙂

  3. Hi, I am Nicole, married, one cat, no kids, fashion, and science enthusiast living in College, Alaska. I found you blog in a linkup. You fabulous bomber made me click your linky. You have great style. Glad I found your blog.

  4. Ashley, you can definitely rock the leggings as pants! I wear leggings often in the cooler weather with longer shirts and tunic style tops. And I am loving your bomber. I like that it does not have an elastic band at the hem but hangs straighter. I think it gives you more styling options. Mine has a banded waist which I find harder to pair with certain tops. Really great look!

    1. Thanks, lady! I agree- the loose hem makes it a bit more wearable + gives you some additional venues where this jacket would work (like the office!). 🙂

  6. Okay. I definitely want that jacket. Bomber jackets are a fave of mine already, so when you combine them with floral, I’m certainly in love! SO pretty 🙂

  7. So cool you got to be featured! I remember seeing your snapchats about it haha. My favorite part of fall has to be busting out the coats too. I mean, Coat + Coffee, come onnnnn. Haha. I could seriously live in a good leather jacket or pea coat. Hope you have a great weekend lady, and lovely look as usual!

  8. I’ve got my eye on some jackets for fall, and I love this adorable floral one! I had my heart set on a faux leather one, but now I keep seeing so many cute bombers… maybe I need both!
