Destroyed Denim Pencil Skirt + Trench.

While pencil skirts are normally reserved for the office, I love the idea of taking this piece and making it cool + appropriate in more casual environments. This 90s-style destroyed denim pencil skirt (a total steal from Forever 21), has some solid juxtaposition happening with the longer hem and revealing rips. I kept the rest of the outfit really classic: a khaki trench coat, olive green boat neck tee, and a pair of camel pumps.

I’m all for destroyed denim, so this pencil skirt is getting some love in the wardrobe right now as a breath of fresh air from my usual busted-knee skinny jeans. Thinking about taking it for a spin with a tank top + wedges comes summer, or paired with pretty + delicate blouses and a leather jacket.

  1. I’m a sucker for trench coats – like I would live in one in the spring if it wasn’t quite so obvious. I love your version from BR – it has the best details and it looks like the material is structured (and not flimsy). Obviously I’m picky when it comes to my trench coats 😉

  2. I finally score a perfect navy blue trench coat and I want to wear it all the time! Never thought of wearing it with a denim skirt though…

Btw, is there a rule to wearing trench coat? Like is it only when it’s raining? Or cold outside? I don’t want to look like a dork…

  3. Love the forever 21 denim skirt! I never even knew I wanted one but now it seems like a no brainer. Destroyed denim? Yes. Denim skirts? Yes. Both of them together? Double yes!
