October can’t make up its mind– one day it’s crisp and sweater-worthy, the next a warm front moves in and we’re in the 80s. A cropped brown leather jacket is perfect for this in-between weather: a little boxy at the shoulder, slightly oversized, and easy to stash in a tote when the temps bounce back. It keeps the look polished, whether the morning is chilly or the afternoon heats up. I’m featuring this look both here and in the October issue of KC Homes & Style.

I wore a cotton body-con brown minidress as the base here. It’s super soft and breathable, and chocolate brown is still everywhere for fall. The real mood-maker is the slouchy snakeskin boots. Snakeskin is huge again this season, and these boots add texture and edge while still reading tonal with the brown dress and jacket.

When the day warms up, toss the jacket in your tote; when the sun dips or the AC starts blasting, throw it back on or drape it over your shoulders. Once cool weather is here to stay, pop on a pair of tights, matching the tone to keep the look monochrome. Minimal jewelry, small bag, and you’re set.

  18. You’ve got the perfect figure for this classy brown dress! I love brown for fall, it’s a warm, rich colour that is a neutral because it goes with anything. I checked out the second link to the jacket and was pleasantly surprised that it’s a “Vegan Leather Bomber Jacket.”

    I love snakeskin print, and I actually just bought a snakeskin print sweater which I haven’t worn yet.
