Cobalt Blue Maxi Coat + Chunky Chelsea Boots.

Making a winter style statement in a cobalt blue maxi coat.

Want a really easy way to beat those winter blues? Wear a coat in the brightest jewel tone you can find. I scored this cobalt blue maxi coat at Zara in the early fall, immediately drawn to the super saturated color.

What I love about a coat like this? The rest of your outfit can be basic because the coat is doing all the fashion legwork. I chose slouchy jeans, a black turtleneck (such an underrated top choice), and a pair of chunky Chelsea boots. So, so simple.

These boots? A Shein find. I couldn’t resist giving them a try because they were just too aggressive not to. They’re comfortable (an expectation) and really lightweight (a pleasant surprise).

Adding a piece of statement outerwear like this cobalt blue maxi coat is a smart style choice. You don’t have to go with blue, of course, you can pick any bright you like. Fire engine red? Timeless. Kelly green? Very on trend. Violet? Royal. You could also pivot and do a vivid pastel, like the 2022 Pantone color of year: periwinkle. Any of these hues in a maxi coat (also search: duster coat) is going to score you some serious sartorial points.

  3. That is perhaps the best blue coat I’ve ever seen! What a beautiful shade it is. And I love how you styled it, simply with the black top and jeans. As for the boots, well. I’m in love with them! I’ve always loved chunky boots so I’m swooning here. You look gorgeous.
