Striped Button-front Dress for Summer. | Ash from LSR

Button-front Dress with Summer Sandals.

Wearing stripes (again!) in this easy button-front dress.

It’s really been the summer of stripes (especially blue stripes), but here I am again in another striped number. This button-front dress was such a cute addition to the summer wardrobe; you know how I feel about mixing button details with prints. I love the slit up the leg to add some movement and the tie at the waist was a nice way to cinch things in.

I stripped this dress down by wearing it with minimal jewelry (just a very seasonally-appropriate shell necklace) and my favorite pair of flat summer sandals. (Which are on sale for 50% off right now! Hurry!) These are the easiest slides to slip on with just about anything from dresses to jean shorts. How pretty is that braided leather? These accessory choices kept the look very simple + casual, yet still polished.

I like this button-front dress because it’s lined linen, which means you don’t have to worry about sweating through it and it’s lighter weight than other fabrics. Brilliant! So easy to throw on for a Saturday brunch or a summer date night. You could easily swap out the flat sandals for a heeled sandal or wedge (it would lengthen you out; midi lengths can be tough to wear).

Further stretching things out, I wore this button-front dress to work by wearing a fitted cropped white tee underneath to bypass that deep V and spaghetti straps. How about that for a breezy summer number?

Remember that fun project with KC Parks I talked about last week? The commercials are in! Check out my spot below and the full 1-minute commercial here.

    1. Thank you so much, Jodie- and no, I don’t know Heidi. Leslie was my Parks contact. 🙂 It was such a fun opportunity!

  3. I’ve been loving my stripes too, girl! I bought another striped jumpsuit and a dress in the pattern. They can be so flattering when done right! I adore your dress and the placement of those buttons, so holiday chic! Happy Friday!

  4. You can never have too many button-up dresses in a summer wardrobe; love the asymmetric button style of this one! Gorgeous!

  5. Stripes + linen = love! You can never go wrong with this combination especially these hot August days. Love the button detail and the leg slit totally elevates the dress up a notch. I mean come on, who doesn’t love a little leg action?! I hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday!
