Bow Tie Blouse + Frame Denim.

Getting a little ladylike in a bow tie blouse.

I’m not one to get too girly (usually; never say never), but this bow tie blouse from ASOS was pretty irresistible. I kept it really simple by wearing it with almost-black jeans from Frame and a pair of white marble sandals (yes, it’s after Labor Day; I don’t really care because it’s still 85 degrees here in KC). This all combined for a chic + streamlined outfit for an appearance on Better Kansas City (see the segment here).

This bow tie blouse is definitely a perfect office-friendly pick; it would work beautifully with trousers and skirts. I quite like it paired with denim, though. I think it dresses things up and would work with both feminine (as worn here) and edgy shoe options.

What is everyone up to this weekend? I cannot believe it’s October– I keep saying things of this nature– but the second half of 2017 is flying by). It’s even more unbelievable when you factor in that KC has been a boiling sweatbox most of September. I swear, it was hotter this month than it was in August. I’ve got a hair appointment on the books (the road to platinum blonde continues!) and then a family reunion. The reunion is for a great uncle I’ve met maybe twice in my life, so I’m really going for the buffet + wine offerings. Does that make me a horrible person? Probably. But my family is full of really solid cooks, so the food will be legit.

PS, have you shopped the Shopbop Event of the Season sale? Because it’s good, guys. See my picks here and shop fast! The sale ends tomorrow night!

  3. I have also a small thin tie womanly like and I so proud of it… I think this is a great style for women nowadays… Anyway I love thin ties over women blouses… Really great trend! We have also to maintain it…. Why not?

  4. When I read you were wearing a bow-tie blouse, I expected it to be uncharacteristically feminine for you but then I saw it — very nice! Elegant. Almost like a bolo tie. You pick great stuff. And these sandals!

  5. I am not much for high neckline or tie-ups but this is so classy. I love how you paired it with denim making it casual and classy at the same time, like princess Kate. Well played.
