Love a good off-the-shoulder dress.

This sweet little off-the-shoulder floral dress from local boutique Knitted Belle was calling to me the second I walked into Kindred Shops recently. It had the right 90s vibe, a flirty length, and the darker floral meant it served as a nice transition dress. I love a piece that looks like fall via a print, but the item itself is lightweight + breezy enough for summer weather.

I wanted to balance the sweetness of the dress, so I threw those super fresh white sneakers from a few weeks back into the mix. While a summer sandal would be cute, I wanted just a bit of edge.

As you can tell by my hair (hello, late-summer humidity), it wasn’t exactly cool during this shoot. Rock that texture, Ash. (Because you have no other choice!)

Wondering how to remix this off-the-shoulder floral dress? I’ll put a denim or leather jacket over the top and swap out the sneakers for a suede ankle boot as September rolls on. A super chunky cardigan would also add a definite fall vibe. (I pulled this same trick last month and it works like a charm!) If fall has really hit where you live and bare legs don’t seem kosher, slip on a pair of black leggings and/or a tall black boot.

  43. I was dying over this dress as soon as I saw it on Instagram. It is so perfect for these last hot days of summer (tell me it’s the last of them!). It will transition into fall so well with a denim jacket on top!

    1. Haha- I think after the heat wave this week, we’ll be fall mode! Now just cross your fingers fall sticks around through early December rather than turning SUPER cold in October!
