90s Floral Crop Top + Denim Shorts.

Floral crop top, anyone? It’s all 90s vibes in this top (and hair to match).

This outfit is coming to you straight from 1995. High-waisted mom-style denim cutoffs (with some stretch, bless), huge wavy hair, and a floral crop top worthy of Lisa Turtle on Saved by the Bell. (Score similar versions here, here, and here.)

I spotted this crop during the Zara sale and it immediately reminded me of a dress I wore for picture day in the second grade. So retro! It was a no-brainer, I had to have it.

I love the lower neckline + puffy sleeves. It’s a lot of shoulder, which I dig. Elastic keeps the top in place, and smocking in the back ensures a snug fit without pinching. A loud + bold print like this also means I can ditch the bra, which I’m always game to do on a super hot summer day. (Bra sweat… no thank you.)

I dressed up this outfit with some statement jewelry: pink resin earrings (almost exact here), a medallion necklace, and a pair of strappy pink wedges that match both the top and my lipstick.

I love the way this outfit turned out: the perfect little 90s #ootd for hitting up any outdoor, socially-distanced patio with your COVID-19-negative friends and fam. (Yes, KC is still seeing a rise in cases; we’re still trying to get everyone to keep their distance and mask-up when they’re out in public/in larger groups indoors.) I plan on remixing the floral crop top with jeans when it cools off. I can’t enough of that super retro print!

And no worries: I’ve heard you guys loud and clear, and the big wavy hair tutorial is coming! I’ve switched up my routine a bit and it has really brought out more of my natural waves and upped the volume ten-fold. Sharing here soon!

  1. I am so into this top! Nothing wrong with showing some shoulder, especially during the summer time. You look great and have officially inspired me to go online shopping for a bunch of off the shoulder tops!

  2. I love this! It’s so brassy.

I’m growing my hair and hope to learn how to add waves, curls and other fun effects. Looking forward to your future tutorial.

  3. That’s such a cute top and gives all the 90s vibes! I actually remember having a bodysuit like that as a kid. I love the way you’ve enhanced the 90s feel with the skirt and hair. You look beautiful!

  6. You look great!

You made me laugh that you wore something like this in your second grade picture. Second grade in 1967 was not nearly as stylish! Girls weren’t even allowed to wear pants to school yet – pants were for boys – ha ha ha – but we DID wear the shortest dresses you can imagine, so how did THAT make any sense?!

Hope you have (or had) a great date night!
