I love light, airy neutrals every now and again during the spring and summer to break up my usual wardrobe diet of neon + super saturated colors. (I can’t help it; bright coral gets me every time.) So when the kids at The Kewl Shop offered me access to their selection of bandage dresses and skirts, I picked this silver bandage skirt immediately, dreaming of it with a floaty white blouse and neutral pumps.
Bandage skirts and dresses are deceiving creatures. You might think wearing one requires avoiding carbs + hitting the gym like a mad woman to pull off something so incredibly body conscious. Well, I’m here to enlighten you: they actually work to hold everything in. The material is super stretchy and has a thickness to it that results in a really nice Spanx effect. (Bless. The. Fashion. Gods.)
The skirt is killer, but it’s both tight and short. Best to bring in some balance up top with an easy (full coverage!) blouse. Rounding out the outfit: gold jewelry, those Zara pumps I basically live in, and some serious lion hair. KC humidity is no joke, guys.
Shop the look:
I need more cool tones in my wardrobe, so another point for this silver bandage skirt. It’ll work with brighter colors just as well as it does with neutrals– think of this baby with cobalt blue, fuchsia, or royal purple. Sign me up.
And I’d apologize for wearing the absolute daylights out of these shoes, but isn’t that point? To find a pump/flat/boot so versatile and much-loved you end up wearing it with everything? Yes and yes. Plus the stiletto is sick and does amazing things for the legs– this girl is sold.
Happy almost-weekend!
