Leopard Maxi Dress + Vintage Jean Jacket.

Trendy leopard in a super roomy maxi dress.

How do you feel about a leopard maxi dress? Or just maxi dresses in general? I’ve heard people say they can’t wear them because they’re too short– well I’m 5’5 (ie, pretty short) and I wear them all the time in the spring and summer. If you’re worried about length, trying wearing your maxi dress with a pair of wedges. This helps make you look taller and keeps the skirt of the maxi dress from dragging the ground (and further shortening the line of your body).

Leopard is a classic print, but there was something fresh about this particular leopard maxi dress. I loved the cooler tones and the pockets; the super roomy cut meant maximum comfiness. I wore it with a pair of nude wedges (such a great find!) and an old jean jacket. I got this A&F jacket in high school about 1,000 years ago, so I think it qualifies as vintage. (Here is a similar version you can buy now.) That’s something to love about a denim jacket: they are timeless and you can wear ’em forever.

Another reason to keep those jean jackets handy all summer long: they make for great toppers to outfit on cooler days (and nights, once summer really set in), cold offices, movie theaters, and restaurants.

Do you guys still have stuff from your high school closet in the rotation? I don’t have a time limit on how long I’ll keep things; I’ll keep something in the wardrobe until it’s no longer in good condition or makes sense with my style. Who cares if it’s from the early 2000s? Not this blogger. 😉

  2. So cute. I’ve said this before: I didn’t realize how comfy maxi-dresses are until I wore one. Totally changed my mind. Love ’em and this one’s a beauty.

Speaking of old clothes, I have t-shirts from before you were borne. 🙂

    1. Aren’t they so cute and comfy?! I’m a big fan! And I would loooove to see your t-shirt collection! I bet you have some gems!

  3. I LOVE maxi dresses and I’m even shorter than you! I also recently became absolutely obsessed with leopard print – I have a leopard print maxi dress actually but never thought to pair it with one of my jean jackets!! You’ve inspired my next summery outfit once summer comes back to Australia!

  4. That maxi dress is the cutest! I am 5’5″ and I wear maxi dresses all the time! If it’s a classic piece you better believe an item will stay in my closet too!
