Fun Summer Neutrals: Horse Corset and Wide-leg Jeans.

Basking in the dog days of summer for KC Homes & Style in a printed corset and affordable denim.

My summer vibe of late has been cool neutrals with a fun twist. Last round it was neutrals with a pop of bright blue, but today I’m all about a printed jacquard corset to jazz up a simple look. This corset features light boning, a zippered back (easier entry, for sure!), and a Western-vibey horse print. Yes, I said horse print. When I saw this, I knew it had to be mine.

It’s a lot of shoulder and clavicle, which looks great with a (faux) tan. I wanted to strike a little balance, so I chose a wide-leg jean. (These are from Target, come in a ton of colors, and are an absolute steal! I’d recommend sizing down one size because they have plenty of stretch.) I absolutely love this high-waisted fit, with the hem ending perfectly to pair with a cute braided kitten heel.

This entire look is featured in The Closet column of the July/August issue of Kansas City Homes & Style, which is on stands now here in the KC metro area and available online here.

How do we feel about corsets? They were huge a few summers ago, but I’m not sure I see them as much now. (Which actually suits me just fine; I don’t need to dress super trendy all the time.) They amp up a look and I like that– there’s just more oomph to this outfit, for example, than if I styled it with a simple tank or tube top. The jacquard fabric (is it for a couch or a top? Both!) and the print help that effort, for sure.

Hope you’re having a great summer!

But, then I realized you meant the print…hahaha!!! I love how you paired this slim top with those gorgeous wide leg jeans! You look absolutely fabulous! And, you have got great clavicles!
