A denim jumper: aka the item that completes your 90’s capsule wardrobe.

I used to love a good denim jumper as a kid. A little Osh Kosh dress with Keds was all I needed to get ready for any and every event on my first-grade social calendar. This denim jumper from Cello (score it for $30 here) was a Scoobie via KC Garment score and hit on all those 90’s vibes. I wanted something fun + girly to juxtapose against the tougher destroyed denim, and this off-the-shoulder blouse did the trick. A pair of white canvas sneakers underscored the playful nostalgic aesthetic– I love these Taos sneakers because they’re on trend while also being super comfortable.

Do not sleep on 90’s nostalgia fashion; it’s everywhere and I love it. This denim jumper is pretty summery, but I’m thinking I could stretch it into fall with tights and a thin turtleneck. Or maybe a bomber jacket over the top? There is definitely some autumn potential in this piece.

How heartbreaking is all the devastation from Hurricane Harvey? I cannot imagine what the people (and animals!) of Houston, Corpus Christi, and the Lousiana coast are going through; it would be awful to lose everything. If you’re curious about places to donate, the American Red Cross is a good start. The Houston Food Bank is another organization in need. As my soft spot for animals dictates, I donated to the Houston SPCA and the Houston Humane Society to help support efforts to rescue and shelter displaced animals. There are a lot of things I can stomach, but a suffering animal isn’t one of them.
