My favorite boyfriend jean jacket is back to help transition summer pieces to fall.
It’s hit or miss season here in KC. Some days it feels like fall, some days it feels like summer. This transition period can be a tricky one to navigate because while you might want to start working in a fall theme, the temps are urging you to keep things on the summer side. My summer dresses are still in rotation, I’m just making ’em fall-friendly with jackets. This oversized jean jacket from Levi’s is my favorite– you’ve seen this guy many times. I love the too-cool-for-school 90s vibe it gives a look and it’s really easy to slip off when it gets 80 degrees or warmer.
Another nod to fall weather is a closed-toe mule, like the one I’m wearing here. (Score an almost exact version right here.) In a deep camel color with a totally walkable heel, this shoe will take you right into November.

If you don’t have a jean jacket in your wardrobe arsenal, I highly recommend this Levi’s jacket (more here and here in different washes). Sizing note: I went up one size in this to get a really slouchy feel. It runs true-to-size, so if you’re looking for just a bit of slouch, go with your normal size.
Have you packed your summer dresses away just yet? I’m sure my Southern pals are still basking in the glory of summer, while my Northern friends are dipping into that sweater collection more often than not. The Midwest can’t seem to make up its mind (we are, after all, in the middle), which is okay with me because I’m in no rush to start dressing in full-stop fall quite yet. This in-between time can be a fun experiment in outfitting.

This is such a cute look dear! Love how you styled it with the denim jacket. Also, chic mules too.
