Early Summer Linen Suit Separates.

A linen blazer and trousers? Yes, please. Let’s do it all with some cobalt blue, while we’re at it.

We’re getting our first taste of 90-degree weather here in KC, so I’m dipping into my linen collection. A white linen blazer with a vertical blue stripe and a pair of beige linen trousers combine to create a chic early summer linen suit. (This can be seen in the summer issue of Kansas City Homes & Style, which is out now!) Who says a suit has to be purchased as a set? You can create your own vibe by mixing and matching pieces from your closet– just choose pieces made from the same fabric and you’re off.

I wanted to lean into that blue, so I grabbed a cobalt blue silk tank to layer underneath and a pair of matching earrings to pump up the blue punch. These white pointed-toe pumps with a wooden block heel strike tie in both of the outfit’s neutrals and elevate the overall look.

Shop the look:

Such an easy breezy look at its core, but the finished product looks quite chic. Totally office-friendly, too. And linen is so breathable! Yes, it can wrinkle, but that’s part of its charm. It’s effortless, lived in, all while maintaining some polish. Another linen tip? Choose a fabric with a little heft; this type of linen tends to wrinkle less easily and remains breathable.

I’ll be wearing these trousers again and again this summer, with everything from sneakers and tank tops to summer sweaters. What a great Old Navy find!

You can read the summer issue of KC Homes & Style in its digital entirety, by the way. Congrats to the team on another great issue!
