Remixing a swimsuit for everyday wear.
Bodysuits are everywhere. They’re easier to wear than you think– especially with high-waisted shorts, skirts, and summer-friendly trousers. Don’t have bodysuit? Consider raiding your swimsuit drawer: the right one-piece is actually a perfect bodysuit candidate.
I took this gorgeous olive green crochet swimsuit from Becca (on sale right now!) and layered it under a pair of neutral striped linen shorts. The high waist and boxy cut of the shorts keep the outfit from being too tart, while the halter neckline + see-through features of the swimsuit add some spice. (This suit comes in several different colors and another style!) Because my legs can always use a boost, an olive green wedge add length (and a little matchy-matchiness, which I sort of love here).

The see-through cutouts are really fun, right? A little suggestive without being too much. You could also throw on a breezy duster + kimono number over the top of this to add some coverage, or even a denim jacket (I’ve been such a fan lately) if you were headed somewhere super air-conditioned (like the movies, which seem to be frigid in the summer).
How do you know if your pool-friendly one-piece can double as a bodysuit? Stick with matte fabrics– anything too shiny is going to be a dead giveaway unless you’re going for a totally 90’s, Saved By the Bell vibe. Solids work better than prints, but they’re not totally off-limits. This stretches your closet and saves you from having to stock up on bodysuits– just repurpose your swimsuit collection!
