Back in a blazer dress for a late-summer look.

It wasn’t so long ago you saw me last in a blazer dress (Media Mixer memories!), but this 80s version is so different from that one I wore in April. Sleeveless but with a strong shoulder (such an 80s vibe), belted with pockets, all in a bright fuchsia linen. It’s the summer version of those power suits the babes wore in the 80s, right?

Just like in the spring, sneakers were my go-to shoe choice. These retro adidas sneakers were on super sale, so I snagged ’em because I’m of the You Can’t Have Too Many Shoes camp. (Not a minimalist by any stretch of the imagination, ha.) They run big (I’m normally a 7 in adidas, 8 in regular shoes, and got a 6 in these, fyi) but I loved the bright white + neon combo. And you can’t beat the price at under $40.

While this blazer dress is linen, it’s a hefty enough linen that the wind isn’t going to blow it up and over your head. (Always a plus.) I am really feeling the 80s vibe here, too– the V created by the strong shoulder and the double-breasted blazer front is sooo 1986. And that color! It’s basically a neon (something I’m a big fan of) and allows me to keep the rest of the styling really simple. Another throw-on-and-go summer outfit!
