Ashley from LSR in a fringe camel coat

Fringe Camel Coat.

Adding a camel coat to your wardrobe is a good call.

Coat Season is definitely in full swing; prepare to see what my coat closet has to offer. Today it’s a camel coat with fringe detail. (From a few seasons ago, but you can find it on sale right here.) This coat is oh-so-boho and I love it. I don’t get the chance to show my boho roots as often in the winter; this camel coat helps a bohemian-hearted sister out. I grabbed a gray work shirt and wore it over faded black straight jeans with a stepped + raw hem and front seams. Camel pumps, a statement necklace, and a bright berry lip round things out. (I’m wearing a sheer layer of MAC lipstick in Rebel.)

Frankenstein denim is in– think ripped apart, patched, and stitched back together, with frayed + uneven hems. A straighter cut, not too skinny. And we’re talking true, non-stretch, very-little-give denim. While it’s a big departure from the super skinny jeans with 85% stretch we’ve been wearing for years, I love the contrast + edge a pair of these Frankenstein’s can give an outfit.

I love a camel coat because it’s a flattering color on all complexions and it usually means soft + snuggly wool. While this particular coat is has a boho vibe, I’ve seen versions that fall in categories ranging from simple and elegant to oversized and maxi. A ton of options in a wear-everywhere neutral, and obviously perfect for layering to beat the wind chill.

  1. A camel coat is such a classic piece! Plus, like you said, there are versions for basically every type of style. Love that yours has fringe detailing, so fun!
