How to Wear Wide Leg Trousers. | Ashley from Le Stylo Rouge

Tropical Wide-leg Trousers.

So how do you wear wide-leg trousers, anyway?

Wide-leg trousers are back (I’ve been on this jam for a minute, exhibit a), but how to wear? Because of the volume on the bottom, I like to keep things fitted up top. This trick keeps my frame from being overwhelmed (and a great tip for all my fellow short gal pals). It was love at first sight when I spotted these tropical wide-leg trousers as part of the Zara sale (sold out, but same cut + different print here). I rounded out the outfit with a simple fitted halter tank, which I tucked in to make sure I didn’t lose my waist. A pair of wedge sandals added some height and kept the hem from dragging the ground.

Adding height is really the key to successfully wearing wide-leg trousers: it streamlines the pants and makes your legs look miles long. This outfit is perfect for summers at the office (with a denim jacket or fitted blazer if your dress code isn’t down with tank tops) because while the pants are full length, they’re also super breezy + lightweight. I love that moody tropical print, too– it’s a real eye-catcher.

Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead! I’m headed to my stylist for a blonde refresh; time to ice this mane out even more!

    1. Thanks, babe- and yes, going fitted up top when there’s a ton of volume on the bottom is such a great trick! 🙂

  3. We are on the same wavelength, girlfriend! Julia (my co-blogger) was just mentioning to me how much she LOVES tropical prints right now – I see her point! And I just wrote a post (for tomorrow) featuring wide-legged pants. Love your look!
