Super Platforms.

Nothing like meeting up with a friend you haven’t seen in ages and discovering your bond is still strong. For me, the experience also applies to long lost shoes: I found these super platforms hiding in the back of a closet I was cleaning out at my parent’s house and it was like we had never separated. Brown leather gladiator straps? Major height? Yes and yes. I first wore these bad boys as an 8th grader (seriously, how did I manage to walk in them while also balancing all that clumsy puberty?) but they totally play now with the 70s being back in full fashion force.

I treated a suiting vest as a sleeveless top and paired it with distressed skinny jeans for something cool + casual. Leather accents came next: brown hip belt, wrap watch, and those killer sandals. Not a bad outfit, complete with shoes sourced from the 90s.

Shop the look:

I couldn’t find the exact vest for you to shop (blasted Victoria’s Secret and their decision to stop selling clothing, argh), but would suggest a cheaper option: hit the men + boy’s suit section. Depending on your size, you could easily swing a boys L-XXL or a men’s S-M vest to recreate this.

  1. Such a good point! I recently found my purple faux leather jacket my parents bought for me in Paris while I was in high school! Kinda fell in love with it all over again 8 years later! Love these heels on you! So cute!

  3. I love the idea of wearing a vest as a sleeveless top! It adds so much sexiness along with polished chic!! Love the high heeled platforms, truly miss wearing so many of my pumps!!

  4. If there is one thing I always hang onto (unless they are ruined) it is shoes!! They are always like long lost friends when I wear them again–like no time has passed hehe 🙂 And I never have gained to much weight to fit in them–another plus!!

  5. You were one cool 8th grader! I’m pretty sure a) none of my middle school shoes would have made it through the abuse I put them through as a middle schooler and b) they would be cool enough to wear now. Yours look brand new!
