Navy Girl.

I love the color navy– truly a workhorse neutral of my wardrobe. And while yes, it’s dark and might not be what one characterizes as a classic summer color, you can definitely wear it June through August. I’m doing so here by pairing it with a nautical striped tank and a white blazer.

The JCrew Schoolboy blazer is a lifesaver; I have three different versions of this jacket in my closet. White linen is very quintessential summer, and a blazer is great to keep the chill of my AC-cooled office at bay. I rounded out the look with neutral color block sandals in a very-doable mid-heel + a super easy striped tank. Bonus: it’s so easy to shed the jacket post-workday to transition the look from day to night.

Do you take colors typically saved forΒ fall/winter and work them in for summer?

  1. Really great pants-trousers. I love navy, too, but I need to get better about wearing it during the summer. Unless it’s part of a print- like in a dress or something- I just don’t think to wear it. But you’ve proven that you definitely can! πŸ™‚

  2. I love navy and definitely wear it through the summer. I love how you’ve paired it with the lighter brighter colors to make it more seasonally appropriate!

    1. Totally the idea- take a “winter” color in an all-season fabric and you can make it work during the summer. πŸ™‚ Thanks, Inge!

    1. I love black, too. I can count the number of pairs of cropped black trousers I have on BOTH hands, haha. πŸ™‚

  3. I have those Zara heels and I really like them. They’re so cute, but they aren’t that high so I can wear them literally all day and my feet don’t hurt! Best of both worlds. πŸ™‚

  4. Navy as a neutral is a great concept- I need to remember this when I’m searching for something to wear! πŸ™‚

  5. Very cute! The blazer is such a great wardrobe staple. The white and the tortoise shell buttons make the outfit seem so summery. Loveeee the heels as well!

  6. navy is such a great color to wear, i like to wear it a lot! i don’t look as fancy as you do, love the outfit by the way. looking beautiful lady! xoxo

  7. I LOVE navy too! Like probably a better neutral that black and brown! πŸ˜‰ What an adorable outfit!

  8. I love this outfit. My first thought was sailor chic. You should be on a yacht somewhere with you hair blowing in the wind. You’ve reminded me that I need to totally find a great fitting, crisp, white blazer. No statement necklace or jewels this time? Still lovely though.

    1. Haha- that’s exactly what I need in my life: a yacht! πŸ™‚ And I kept the look minimal re: jewelry because a statement necklace just felt too heavy, you know? Gotta switch it up! πŸ™‚
