Navy Girl.

I love the color navy– truly a workhorse neutral of my wardrobe. And while yes, it’s dark and might not be what one characterizes as a classic summer color, you can definitely wear it June through August. I’m doing so here by pairing it with a nautical striped tank and a white blazer.

The JCrew Schoolboy blazer is a lifesaver; I have three different versions of this jacket in my closet. White linen is very quintessential summer, and a blazer is great to keep the chill of my AC-cooled office at bay. I rounded out the look with neutral color block sandals in a very-doable mid-heel + a super easy striped tank. Bonus: it’s so easy to shed the jacket post-workday to transition the look from day to night.

Do you take colors typically saved for fall/winter and work them in for summer?

  1. Love the outfit and shoes, especially!

And I love dark plum so it’s hard not to wear it in the summer when it’s all about the light colors. I just pair dark plum jeans with a silky, white flowy top and a straw hat and it’s all summery again 🙂
