Fall Outfit Idea: Navy Chenille Cardigan. | Ashley from LSR

Navy Chenille Cardigan.

Time to start bundling up in chenille everything.

Yes, I said chenille. The super soft fabric of your childhood is back in a big way. My recent chenille purchase total is at 4 with no signs of slowing down as I start to bundle up for the winter. First up: this navy chenille cardigan. Talk about cozy; I seriously forgot how soft and snuggly chenille is. (Bonus: it’s on sale for under $25 right now.) I paired it with those jeans from Tuesday, a basic black tank (this one is super affordable and makes a great base layer), and a pair of flat thigh high boots.

I’ve been talking about remixing the fall uniform of jeans-and-a-sweater lately, and this is another example. I’m definitely game for finding new ways to make fall + winter basics feel fresh because I know come February I’ll be so bored of this combination.

Shop the look:

Since chenille hasn’t been in my closet since middle school, I had to figure out how to wash it + care for it. Tips: wash it on gentle in one of those bags usually reserved for delicates. Chenille is easily stretched out (at which point it loses its shape), so using a delicates bag keeps your washer from ruining the look. I’d also let it air dry on a drying rack vs. throwing it in the dryer. A little high maintenance, sure, but you can’t beat how the cozy factor of this navy chenille cardigan.

If you’re in the market for a pair of thigh high boots, mine are on sale for under $55, originally $150. They’re also a great dupe for the $800 Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots and work well with denim (as shown here), over leggings, and with short sweater dresses. These are in stock in 4 of the 5 colors, so hurry and snag yourself a pair!
