Lookbook Love: Free People

Clearly, I have spring fever. Or pre-spring fever, as it’s still 11 degrees outside. We’ve only just spoken of groundhogs and the possibility of spring, and I’m building spring and summer wish lists.

Free People’s February catalog launched this week, sparking my lust for several of the floaty, ethereal pieces. I love the beachy 70s, slightly-hippie (but not dirty hippie) vibe, and it gets me super pumped for warmer temperatures. Absolutely cannot wait for chiffon weather.

Lookbook Love: Free People

1. Go Together Well Maxi ($248)
2. Engineered Crochet Tank ($98)
4. Cala Luna Tunic ($128)

I love how everything here could double as a perfect swim suit cover-up (especially the maxi dress). I love that super chill surfer beach vibe; clothes that have a little glamour but don’t take themselves too seriously.

I want to live in this maxi dress (1). Amazing. It’s a little Halston, right? Laid back and chill, but girly enough that you could totally wear this out. I love the sheer factor (a continued big trend this upcoming spring and summer). You could button this maxi over a little solid slipdress and wear it everywhere from the market on a grocery run to date night with your dude. Sign. Me. Up.

Black tanks are a staple in my closet; I’m forever stocking up. This one has crochet detail (2), which adds some interest but keeps it easy. The versatile length means you could pair it with cutoff denim shorts + flat sandals or leggings + heels.

I’m really digging this slouchy tunic with cut-outs (3). A million ways to work this— over a tee or tank with a floaty lightweight scarf and skinny denim, or over a sexy camisole with a mini and gladiators.

What are your thoughts? Is floaty and beachy your thing?

  1. I love FP- they are one of my favorite brands. This lookbook is gorgeous- that maxi is my favorite too!

    Great post!

  2. I’ve never been a fan of maxidresses (mostly because I’m tall and they make me look even taller) but I may have to give this dress some serious reconsideration! It’s so pretty!

    Love your blog!
