January Pick-Me-Ups.

Mid-January: the armpit the of the calendar year.

The holidays are long gone (and so is the excitement and vacations that comes with), but spring is still months away. In the meantime, you’re stuck with single-digit temperatures and the occasional snowstorm. Bundling up to brave the cold is a 10-minute hunt for gloves, a warm hat, a proper scarf, snow/rain boots, and a heavy coat.

What’s a girl to do? Perhaps a few pick-me-up purchases are in order.

January Pick-Me-Ups1. Henri Bendel mini candle set in Fig, Pomegranate and Peony ($20)
2. Givenchy Ange ou Démon Le Secret fragrance ($75)
3. Pier One mugs ($2.98 each)
4. Zoya nail polish in (l-r) Ashley, Alegra, and Caitlin ($8 each)
5. Sam Edelman slipper ($149.50)
6. Only Mine striped v-neck sweater ($70)

Nothing like a decadent candle to cozy up a room, yes? I admit to being a total scent hound– I buy up candles like war bonds and have them in almost every room. Bendel minis are a nice touch (1), don’t you think?

Givenchy’s Ange ou Démon (2) is heaven in a bottle. With a hint of jasmine tea, it smells rich and can be worn for both day and night. I’ve been reaching for this almost daily.

Cheeky little mugs (3) are perfect for a big cup of your favorite warm beverage. I love the bright colors and the delicate handles. These are a steal at just under $3 a pop.

A fresh manicure is a great way to add a little glamour to your look. I snagged these bottles of Zoya polish (4) last week; they arrived on my doorstep yesterday afternoon. First up: bright, sparkly Alegra.

Slipper flats started trending last fall, and somehow I still don’t have a pair. I’ve been lusting after these studded rose gold Edelman’s (5) for months now. Picture them with skinny denim or ankle-length cigarette pants.

I love stripes, but tend to stick to the classic color combos. In the spirit of the new year, I’m thinking about trying this cobalt + fuchsia sweater (6) on for size. Super fun, right?

What are your January pick-me-ups? Anything on your wishlist to brighten up the winter?

  1. Great picks! I love that they’re all reasonably priced too (except the shoes, but then again I can justify spending just about anything for a good pair of shoes). 🙂

  2. Too cute! Love the coffee mugs. They might even be big enough to hold soup- so handy!

Love the polish, too. I’ve never tried Zoya, so I’m curious to hear how your Alegra mani turned out! 🙂

  3. Great wishlist! I really get in the mood for some shopping come January- maybe because I spent all of November/December shopping for everyone else, lol!
