Hearts on Fire.

I mentioned I was going to start cramming in all my super-summery pieces before fall hits, yes? So here we are, late August, and I’m scrambling to fit it all in.

This dress was a Nasty Gal score, as I just loved the vibrant print and the cut-out detail in the back. This is only the first time I was able to wear this piece, as it arrived and was a bit too blousy. (Nothing my tailor couldn’t fix.) I thought it worked for an easy weekday at the office with simple black leather flats.

Love the cut-out detail. A hint of skin without being too flashy. I wore a light cardigan over the dress at the office to keep it conservative.

Happy Labor Day weekend!

  1. I love that dress- and you have a tailor? How often do you take stuff to her? I hear other blogs talk about tailoring and I’m curious about it. 🙂

    1. Kate- I cannot recommend a tailor enough; my tailor has helped me nip and tuck and alter stuff so my clothes fit perfectly. Clothes don’t always fit your body straight off the rack, and a tailor can help make little tweaks (shortening a hem on a dress/pair of trousers, nipping in a waist, bringing up a neckline, etc.) that really make a world of difference in how you look/feel. Go, go, go and find a tailor! 🙂

  2. SO cute! Love that dress, and the back is fabulous. Today I am wearing white eyelet since it will probably be the last time until next year!

    1. Tights/leggings are great for pieces that might be too short- they also work for extending your summer pieces through the fall. 🙂 Thanks for swinging by, Hind!

  3. That print is really pretty! I love the location of the cutout – it’s definitely more unique than a lot of the other ones I see!
